A car can be a major expense in your life. Even if you are lucky enough to be given a car free of charge there are still the running and maintenance costs to consider, such as fuel, servicing and FL car insurance. But with a little thought, you can save some money on a variety of vehicle costs:

  • Fuel: check gas prices as you are driving along and take note of any patterns in pricing. Your car might not necessarily need the most expensive fuel either – but do ask a trusted mechanic if you’re unsure.
  • Repairs and servicing: find a reliable good mechanic you can trust and build a relationship with them. Also consider doing a course in basic mechanics so you can take care of common maintenance needs yourself.
  • Car insurance: shop around. Get a few quotes and compare them. Always make sure you are getting the level of protection you want and be sure to review your policy annually. Adding a new driver or purchasing a new car are factors that can and will affect your FL car insurance premium.
  • Take it easy when driving. Fast or sudden driving usually uses more fuel. Start off and come to a stop gently – this can save your brakes too. Keep you car at a constant speed as much as you can.
  • Keep your tires at the correct pressure for your particular car. This helps them to last longer by reducing wear and tear.
  • Consider taking fewer trips. Not only could you save money but you could also this as an excuse for a little exercise if you walk or cycle to the local shops instead.

With a little knowledge and good sense, you should be able to save on fuel, repairs, FL car insurance, and other expenses!
