People in Florida can easily find themselves confused at various traffic signals. One of the most confusing ones is the red right turn signal. Sometimes you will see people turning and at the next one people may just stop. A lot of people are unsure if they should treat this like a red light or like a stop sign.

According to the State Of Florida website when you approach an intersection or turn with a red arrow you must come to a complete stop at the marked stop line or before moving into the crosswalk or intersection. After stopping, you may turn right on red arrow at most intersections if the way is clear. Some intersections display a “NO TURN ON RED” sign, which you must obey. Left turns on red arrow from a one-way street into a one-waystreet are also allowed.

For a complete breakdown of all the signals and laws in Florida check out the State of Florida website. They list everything you need to know. Not following these laws properly can result in costly tickets, accidents, insurance premium increases and more so you want to keep yourself aware and up-to-date on these important laws.
