Questionable insurance claims fell nearly 40 percent in the Tampa area between 2010 and 2012.
Tampa Bay ran counter to Florida as a whole, which saw a 23 percent increase in questionable claims from 2010 to 2012, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
Questionable claims are those claims that NICB member insurance companies refer to the organization for closer review and investigation, based on one or more indicators of possible fraud, the Des Plaines-based nonprofit said in a statement.
